CPR Rhythm Trainer

First aid practice tool

A simple rhythm trainer that plays an audio and visual cue for CPR compression-rate practice.

How it works

Set a beats-per-minute rate and press Start. The tool provides an audio cue, visual pulse, and optional 30-beat counter to help practise a steady compression rhythm. The built-in presets use 100, 110, and 120 beats per minute, reflecting the common CPR compression-rate range used in first aid training materials. Information reviewed May 2026.

When to use it

  • Best used for: practising a steady CPR compression rhythm during first aid training, refresher practice, or instructor-led demonstrations.
  • Not used for: teaching CPR technique, replacing certified first aid instruction, confirming emergency protocols, or assessing compression quality.
  • Audience: first aid learners, instructors, workplace safety trainers, volunteers, and anyone who wants a simple rhythm cue for CPR practice.

Notes and limits

  • Assumption: The selected beats-per-minute rate represents the desired practice rhythm.
  • Known constraint: Browser audio timing, device volume, battery mode, Bluetooth delay, and inactive browser tabs may affect the cue.
  • Edge case: CPR protocols may vary by provider, jurisdiction, patient age group, workplace requirement, course standard, and future guideline updates. Always follow current instructor, employer, certifying organization, dispatcher, or emergency medical authority direction.
